* Label debut tentatively scheduled for Fall 2009 release
* Two new demo songs posted on Myspace

This sweet little nugget is a couple days late, but I figured that I’d pass on the news just the same. Seems that Look Mexico – a band that Beartrap has worked with over the course of two years and four releases – have found themselves a great new label in Suburban Home Records.
Currently, the Tallahassee five-piece is recording what will eventually become their Suburban Home debut, which if all goes to plan, will be released by the label in the Fall of 2009. The band is once again working with Phil Martin and August Hansen, the same team that recorded their last release, the amazing Gasp Asp.
Additionally, Look Mexico has posted two new demo tracks on its Myspace page. Stream the new jams here.
You can read label head Virgil Dickerson’s statement regarding the signing here.
On a personal note, we couldn’t be happier for our boys in Look Mexico. They’re five of the hardest working, sweetest people in indie rock and I consider them great friends. What’s more is that Virgil and all the kids at Suburban Home / Vinyl Collective do a terrific job; they truly value DIY ethics and a strong punk rock community. All signs point to this being a perfect marriage between two stellar outfits.
Stay tuned for more news about recording, touring, eating pizza and scaring babies with your beard. And don’t forgot to check out Look Mexico’s blog for frequently entertaining updates from the band. You can also peep Lujo Records, which has released most of the band’s back catalog. Plus, there’s this stinky turd of a label, Tiny Engines, that released the Gasp Asp 7-inch.
