• First up, a million high-fives to RESTORATIONS for signing with venerable Los Angeles-based punk label SideOneDummy. Our favorite Philly quintet now shares a home with the Gaslight Anthem, Flogging Molly, Anti-Flag, Chuck Ragan and Title Fight. That’s pretty amazing if you ask me. We’ve known Jon and Dave from Restorations for well over seven years and it’s extremely gratifying to see those guys move on to the next level. They truly deserve it.

In any case, you can read all the details over at The short version is that in one week the band will begin recording its sophomore full-length at Miner Street Studios in Philadelphia with producer Jon Low (Kurt Vile, Dr. Dog, mewithoutYou). The record is the follow-up to 2011’s Self-Titled debut, released by yours truly.

And speaking of that, the 2nd pressing of said Self-Titled 12″ is now up for pre-order. LPs will ship in 2-3 weeks and are also available as a package deal with Restorations’ latest 7-inch, A/B.

Don’t forget that Restorations will travel to Australia at the end of the month for a tour with The Smith Street Band (Poison City Records). You can view the dates here.

• While we’re on the topic of represses, we also have pre-orders available for the 3rd pressing of the Spirit Desire 7″ from Scranton, PA’s favorite sons (and daughter), TIGERS JAW. The band has a bunch of shows in August, so catch them on tour if you can!

• Moving on, we’ve got test pressings and limited-edition prints for ANNABEL‘s Here We Are Tomorrow 7″. Designed and hand-screened / numbered by our pal Justin Nottke from the Wild Method Workshop, there are 15 test + print combos and 25 prints available. For more information, go here. And if you get a chance, check out Wild Method for lots of great videos featuring the likes of The Hotel Year, Dowsing, Young Statues and a little-known band called Thrice.

• Next in the queue – the brand new Self-Titled 12″ LP from EVERYONE EVERYWHERE (who just left for a month-long tour of Europe) is now for sale in our store. Yes, the band named the record the same thing as the first Tiny Engines-issued Self-Titled LP. True, they recently filmed what is essentially a 40-minute movie of themselves sleeping while the new album plays as the soundtrack. And I can’t deny that Everyone Everywhere once gifted my wife and I a very questionable table wine. Still, despite their charming eccentricities, there’s no doubt that this Philly outfit creates some incredible music and the new record is certainly indicative of the band’s progression as top-notch songwriters.

• While I’ve got amazing songwriters on my mind, let me remind you that the screen-printed vinyl version of BEST PRACTICES‘ debut, The EP LP, is now in. You can see a photo of these bad boys here. This is one of our favorite releases all year and we highly recommend that everyone check it out. You’ll never know how absolutely satisfying that 12 minutes of rip-roaring, garage-cum-power-pop punk rock fury can sound until you give it a try. Listen to this free mp3 for the song “Future Cougar.”

• Finally, in the “mail order is fun” category, we now have TINY ENGINES KOOZIES available for sale. Making koozies is something that every young label dreams of and we get a little bit choked up reminiscing about how far we’ve come. Imagine … four years ago we could have never afforded koozies. Now we’ve got 100 of em, and they cost $4 each. Try to wrap your brain around that. Thanks to Eric and Val at Night Owls Print Shop for the great printing job on these!

• In other label news, the RUN, FOREVER masters for Settling have been approved and on Monday (August 13th) we’ll be teaming up with our friends at Alternative Press to premier a brand new track from the band’s upcoming sophomore full-length. The record will see an early-October release date on vinyl and digital formats. Also, Run, Forever is about to embark on a 12-day tour with recent No Sleep Records signees Adventures (3/4 of Code Orange Kids). Even more exciting is that Run, Forever is currently booking shows for five-week U.S. tour in October and November, including an appearance at this year’s FEST in Gainesville, FL.

• Home stretch here, kids! I just wanted to remind everyone that if you live anywhere remotely near Blacksburg, VA, you should definitely buy a ticket for this weekend’s I GOT BRAINS FEST. Unfortunately we’ll miss Friday’s shows; too bad because I’ve yet to catch Cattle Drums live – and also Planes Mistaken For Stars and The Menzingers are playing – but Tiny Engines will have a table at the “Brain Market” / registration on Saturday and I’ll be front and center for sets from Dikembe, Run, Forever and Best Practices. Other bands confirmed for the weekend include Creepoid, You Blew It!, Bridge and Tunnel, The Saddest Landscape, Laura Stevenson, Into It. Over It and many more.
