South Carolina’s Apart is premiering a new song, “Oak Island”, on Brooklyn Vegan. The song comes from the band’s upcoming 7″, A Bright And Clever Hell, which will be released on Mayfly Records in September. The release follows up the band’s digital 2-song single, Love Is Not Enough, as well as their debut LP, Gray Light.
Apart is a hardcore band in the vein of bands like Modern Life is War and Life Long Tragedy. The band’s debut LP, Gray Light, is eight songs of emotional hardcore at it’s finest. Apart also draw influence from the 90′s screamo movement and bands such as Orchid. What separates Apart from the rest of the pack is a strong influence from the more lyrically driven bands of the early 2000′s like American Nightmare, Panic, and Carry On.
The band has a short June run of dates this weekend and will be hopping on a few dates this Summer with State Faults and Strike To Survive which will include I Got Brains Fest in Blacksburg, VA.
