    For the most part, today’s most popular bands are saccharine and heartless, wallowing in the tepid waters of mass appeal. Likewise, fifteen minutes could easily be wasted trying to find the intensity and fury of old in today’s hardcore scene. Do yourself a favor – save the time spent on vapid, consumer-driven music and lifeless hardcore and dive into the deep end with Aneurysm Rats instead.

    There’s absolutely nothing innocuous or safe about the Philly group’s debut full-length, Dying To Live. One quick glance at the cover art and that much is apparent. Even the band’s name makes it well known that there is zero room for compromise or appealing to the masses. Of course, that’s not to say that the LP won’t turn heads and win the hearts of punk rock’s most discerning critics either. Read more …
