In this day in age where everyone feels the need to classify music and put constraints on bands, Gray Young simply defy that ability. The band resists being pigeonholed at every compelling twist and turn. Firmament runs the gamut of atmospheric rock. Gray Young are expansive in their approach but retain brilliant brevity. Equally gripping and immediate, there is a subtle grandeur to the band’s emotionally charged songs. From ambient instrumentals to melody-fueled anthems, Gray Young show off a vast range and breathtaking attention to detail. Even with nods to brit rock, Gray Young have quite comfortably shed any and all labels. So, whether you label it indie rock, emo or post rock, Gray Young seem perfectly fine floating somewhere in between.
