    When your punk rock pedigree includes Token Entry, Grey Area, WARZONE, Lifetime, Kid Dynamite and Paint It Black, there’s a heightened level of expectation that comes with the formation of any new group consisting of members of those bands. That said, past success and critical praise does not guarantee greatness in the future.

    Thankfully, Higher Giant deftly avoids the “failed supergroup” tag, never straying too far from its members’ previous endeavors. After all, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Accordingly, the quartet’s second 7-inch release, Al’s Moustache, rips through four ultra-catchy blasts of hardcore-tinged punk, picking up where last year’s driving, energy-packed The First Five left off.
