State Faults consists of four soulmates with a DIY ethic trying to make honest and explosive music. Huddled together in the California heat, the group created a tightly knit sound, drawing upon elements of 90′s emo and post-hardcore. Those early days gave birth to the band’s impressive self-released debut EP, Head In The Clouds. Released in late 2010, the EP quickly spread through word of mouth and State Faults continue to cultivate a devoted following. In what can only be described as an advancement of the sound created on Head In The Clouds, Desolate Peaks promises to take State Faults to new levels.

Stay tuned for artwork, tracklisting and more exclusive song premieres from State Faults’ Desolate Peaks!

Build Us Airplanes – New LP Available from Sell The Heart

BUILD US AIRPLANES – Release New LP on Sell The Heart
——————————————————————————————————

* At The End Of The Day available from Sell The Heart
* Artwork/Tracklisting released
* Streaming on Bandcamp
* Release show this weekend

——————————————————————————————————

Sell The Heart (Santa Rosa, CA) are excited to announce the release of the new album from Build Us Airplanes. At The End Of The Day is the sophomore album from the Bay Area indie rock band.

From the dusty roads of Vacaville, CA Build Us Airplanes brings a familiar, yet fresh approach to indie rock. The quartet is made up of hardworking punk/indie kids who decided they wanted a bit more melody to go along with their angst. Since there inception in early 2008 the band has already cranked out several solid releases. With their latest album, At The End of The Day, Build Us Airplanes have found the sweet spot between indie and punk. The band spins melodic indie rock with punk rock swagger leaving the pretension firmly checked at the door. Top notch songwriting and catchy lyrics blend with an edge that has been honed from years of playing together. Residing somewhere between Archers of Loaf, Cursive, Jawbreaker and Hot Water Music, Build Us Airplanes has carved out their own unique niche.

The band will be playing their second album release show at The Arlene Francis Center in Santa Rosa, CA this Friday 11/25 @ 7PM. This is an all-ages show featuring 10 bands on three stages. Bands include Build Us Airplanes along with JD Limelight, The Mud, The Blood and The Beer, Brutus, Shelby Cobra and The Mustangs, Great Apes (members of Olehole/The Ghost/Build Us Airplanes), My Last Line, Teenage Sweater, Starskate and True Mad North.

Better Days Records (Handguns, Stickup Kid, Latin For Truth) is excited to welcome Placeholder (MD/PA) to their roster. Formerly known as Coastal, the band recently changed their name to avoid any legal complications. The band’s debut album as Placeholder, entitled Nothing Is Pure, will be released by the Olympia, WA based label on December 20, 2011.

There is an exclusive stream for the album track, “What This Means”, now live on Property of Zack. You can check that out here.

You can also watch the video for the album’s first single, “Resent”, here. The video was shot and edited by Sam Krepps of Manhouse Media.

Placeholder originally formed under the moniker Coastal in March 2011. After playing together in various bands in the past, the quartet quickly bonded and began writing/recording. The band’s first demo/EP, Demonstration, was released just two months later in May of 2011. Placeholder entered the studio in September of 2011 to record their debut full-length for Better Days. Playing emotionally intense post-hardcore, Placeholder make a giant splash on their proper debut. Delivering on the promise of their earlier demo, the band strikes a chord with their heavy and melodic brand of songwriting. Nothing Is Pure echoes modern bands such as Balance & Composure and Polar Bear Club while paying homage to their past influences. Mature, focused and full of determination, Placeholder leave quite the first impression with Nothing Is Pure.

The band will head out in support of Nothing Is Pure in December. Dates will be announced soon. More exclusive song premieres to come as well!
