STATE LINES – Premiere New Song / Release Artwork & Tracklisting from Upcoming 7″ on TINY ENGINES
——————————
* Self-Titled 7″ Artwork / Tracklisting Released
* Vinyl Pre-order Coming Soon
* Exclusive Song Premiere of “Win Free” on Alternative Press
——————————
Tiny Engines (Tigers Jaw, CSTVT, Look Mexico, Restorations) welcomed Long Island, NY’s State Lines to it’s growing roster earlier this year. The band has completed their sophomore release, a Self-Titled 7″, and the record will be released in May with pre-orders coming soon.
You can hear a brand new song, “Win Free”, on Alternative Press right now!
This 4 song 7″ is the follow up to State Lines’ debut full-length, Hoffman Manor, which can still be downloaded for free here.
The band will be playing Stay Sweet Fest in Richmond, Virginia later this month with fellow Tiny Engineers Tigers Jaw, Signals Midwest and Monument. Other notable bands playing include The Menzingers, Cheap Girls, The Sidekicks, Bridge & Tunnel, Algernon Cadwallader, Spraynard, Daytrader, Mixtapes, Run, Forever, Broadcaster, Grey Area, Go Rydell, Luther, Kite Party and more.
State Lines make quite the first impression as the first chords ring out on their sophomore release. Recorded this Winter with Sainthood Reps’ Bradley Cordaro, these four songs brim with confidence and overflow with punk energy while playfully pulling at those pop heartstrings we all possess. But while State Lines have plenty of youthful spirit left over they bite deeper with lyrical depth.
Though their pop-punk forefathers are irrefutably influential, they have inspired a generation of bands that seem to steal the wrong cues and follow them towards the same predictable ends. State Lines isn’t one of these bands; they’ve identified the spark and spirit that made their predecessors feel so initially fresh and have bottled it, choosing to express this explosive essence without following their winding, wandering path. While it is doubtful that State Lines has finished growing yet, it is refreshing they seem to know exactly where they are going.

Written over the span of close to a year, Desolate Peaks, is the debut full-length from State Faults. The band delivers on the album title imagery with an intense emotional landscape rarely traveled. Drawing upon elements of 90′s emo and post-hardcore, State Faults is explosive but not to the extent where it overpowers the nuances of the band’s songwriting. These songs are always able to breathe to their full potential. The band is adventurous and always pushing forward but never choose to wallow in grandiosity. On Desolate Peaks State Faults is able to find a perfect balance between craft and composition.
Desolate Peaks will be the follow up to the band’s debut EP, Head In The Clouds, which can still be downloaded for free here.
Formed in early 2010, State Faults consists of four soulmates with a DIY ethic trying to make honest and emotionally charged music. Huddled together in the California heat, the band created a tightly knit sound which gave birth to an impressive self-released debut EP, Head In The Clouds. Released in late 2010, the EP quickly spread through word of mouth and the band began to cultivate a devoted following. In what can only be described as an advancement of the sound created on Head In The Clouds, the band’s Tiny Engines debut, Desolate Peaks, takes State Faults to new uncharted levels.
Be sure to follow Tiny Engines’ Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter pages for more exclusive news over the next few months.
• Pig Factory: Available now on vinyl + digital
• Punknews.org: Full-album stream
• Alternative Press: Video Premier – “Realest World”
• U.S. Tour w/ Light Years: April 07 – 28
——————————————————————————–
Pig Factory – the debut full-length from Lowell, MA’s The Fake Boys – is officially out today (03/27) on Animal Style Records (Mixtapes, Hold Tight!, Kite Party, Born Without Bones). The label has issued the album on digital and 12″ LP formats, with the latter being limited to 500 on copies on black (100) and translucent pink (400) colorways.
Recorded and produced by Jay Maas (Have Heart, Title Fight, Transit, Polar Bear Club) at Getaway Recording in Wakefield, MA, the album is the trio’s second long-player and the follow-up to This Is Where Our Songs Live, as well as several EPs and split releases. You can check out The Fake Boys’ back catalog on Bandcamp.
To celebrate today’s release, Animal Style and The Fake Boys have teamed up with Punknews.org for a full-length stream. To listen to Pig Factory in its entirety, go here. You can also stream the record via Bandcamp.
Additionally, Alternative Press has premiered a brand new video for the song “Realest World.” To watch it, click here.
Caught somewhere between the warm, fuzzy hooks of The Smoking Popes, The Descendent’s urgency and aggression, Chavez’s skewed dynamics and the unique melodicism of Jawbreaker, Pig Factory is an undeniably fun, unexpected ride that’s teeming with buzz-saw guitars and a seemingly never-ending supply of sing-along moments. The Fake Boys understand how to evoke the nostalgia of 90′s power-pop and indie rock while diving into modern punk’s pool of tension and ferocity.
Finally, The Fake Boys will be embarking on a month-long tour of the U.S. in support of the new record beginning on April 7th. The outfit will be joined by Kent, OH’s Light Years. As always, if you’d like to attend a show or speak with the band, drop me a line here. You can also contact me for a link to an EPK which includes a full mp3 download of the album.

Practicing a heavier approach, Campaign’s songs take on a whole new life often moving into thicker post-hardcore waters. The melody remains front and center in Campaign’s passionate hardcore anthems but the band has added new dimensions to their sound. The anger and vitriol have been ratcheted up a notch here as the dynamic five-piece

RESTORATIONS – Announce Upcoming 7″ on TINY ENGINES
——————————
* Recording with Jon Low (Twin Sister, mewithoutYou, Sharon Van Etten)
* 7″ Artwork / Tracklisting Coming Soon
* Upcoming Shows with Self Defense Family, Red Collar and Signals Midwest
——————————
Tiny Engines (Tigers Jaw, CSTVT, Look Mexico) is excited to announce the release of a brand new 7″ from Philadelphia, PA’s Restorations. The band has booked studio time for later this month to record two brand new tracks for the 7″ which will see a Summer release from the label. The 7″ will follow up Restorations critically-acclaimed Self-Titled debut LP, released on Tiny Engines in 2011.
Restorations will enter Miner Street in Philadelphia later this month to record two new songs with Jon Low (Twin Sister, mewithoutYou, Dr. Dog, Sharon Van Etten). The band just finished their first Canadian tour with Rosetta and are currently writing for their sophomore full-length, tentatively scheduled for early 2013. Restorations will head out for a weekend with Self Defense Family in April and a weekend with label mates Red Collar and Signals Midwest in May. They will also be playing acoustic for the Move on MS benefit @ American Trash in Manhattan on March 29th.
BIO
——————————
On Restorations’ Self-Titled debut full-length, the Philly quintet creates songs that are layered, tension-building monsters which lean heavily on a rhythm section that could probably knock a hole in the side of a Sherman tank. Still, that never takes away from the band’s ability to craft warm, stirring melodies, enduring hooks and dynamic song structures. Cascading guitars, pulsing waves of reverb and spacey flourishes are held together by Jon Loudon’s raspy-yet-tuneful growl. His delivery transmits confidence, wisdom and a bit of wear and tear – perhaps from years fronting underground DIY heroes Jena Berlin – but he also sings with a soulful, youthful exuberance that feels like he genuinely loves the process of creating music. If you’ve been searching for a thoughtful, nuanced take on punk and indie rock – and all the sub-genres they entail – Restorations might just be your new favorite band.

The vinyl version of In Revival, the sophomore full-length from San Luis Obispo, CA’s The Mighty Fine, is now available for Pre-Order from Solidarity Recordings and La Escalera Records.
Originally released on CD and Digital formats by Solidarity last Summer, the 12″ LP is limited to 500 copies on four colorways (100 Teal, 100 White, 100 Red, 200 Black) and includes a free digital download of a brand new three-song acoustic EP titled Burning Rust. While the street date is April 10th, pre-orders will ship within the next few weeks. For more information or to grab a copy, go here and here.
As an added bonus, In Revival is now available in its entirety as a free download via Bandcamp. Listen to “To Indiana” and “Paper Trails” (free mp3s) now.
Produced by Nolan Perry, mastered by Justin Perkins (Screeching Weasel, The Riverdales, Direct Hit!) and featuring artwork from Dave Watt, In Revival is the follow-up to The Mighty Fine’s 2010 self-released full-length, Bad Timing For Everything. On its latest stellar effort, the California trio extolls the most positive virtues of contemporaries such as The Menzingers and Against Me! – driving, punchy rhythms, soaring choruses and dynamic song structures – while still carving out a unique space for itself within the crowded punk universe. Played with passion and a fiery conviction, but also executed with precision and carefully considered ideas, In Revival bares the mark of a band ready for bigger and better things.
The Mighty Fine will be playing a handful of shows in March and April. As always, if you have any questions or would like to speak with the band, drop me a line here.
And finally – just for funsies – check out this video of an onstage marriage proposal in the middle of a recent set by The Mighty Fine at SLO Brew in San Luis Obispo. It’s pretty adorable (if you’re into this sort of thing).
