Black Numbers To Release Debut LP From Muscle & Bone

• Peace & Light LP out May 2014 on Black Numbers
• Artwork / Tracklising Released
• RIYL: Tigers Jaw, Joie De Vivre, The Anniversary

——————————————————————————–

Black Numbers is thrilled to announce they will release the debut full-length from Asheville, NC indie/emo band, Muscle & Bone. The LP, entitled Peace & Light, will see an official release in May with vinyl pre-orders going live later this month. Song premieres coming soon!

Peace & Light will follow up the band’s debut Self-Titled EP which is available for name-your-price download on Bandcamp currently.

Muscle & Bone began in mid-2012 in the hopes of creating something heavily focused on the sounds of records the band had grown up with. Within a month, the band had written five songs before even finding a bassist. Muscle & Bone would quickly record and digitally release a Self-Titled EP with a heavy focus on melodies and interplaying guitar lines. The EP was subsequently released in 2013 on vinyl by Bitter Melody Records with an added The Anniversary cover. Through 2013 more songs were written for an upcoming full-length and the result would be Peace & Light. The album showcases the band picking apart elements from hardcore, pop, emo and 90′s rock as they continue to weave dark lyrics and themes but with a more straightforward approach.

Peace & Light - Track Listing

2. Song For The Broken Road
3. Keep Sinking
4. Song For Broken Teeth

BLACK NUMBERS To Release New LP from The Hunters

• Art Electric LP out in May on Black Numbers
• Album Teaser Released
• RIYL: Rise Against, Foo Fighters, Anberlin, Daytrader

——————————————————————————————————

Black Numbers is excited to announce they will release the new full-length from Quebec City rock band, The Hunters. The album, entitled Art Electic, was recorded with producer Matt Allison (Alkaline Trio, The Lawrence Arms, The Menzingers) in the Summer of 2013. The LP will see an official release in May with vinyl pre-orders going live in April. Song premieres coming soon!

The band has released an album teaser for Art Electic which can be viewed HERE.

In 2012, The Hunters released the dark, but hopeful Promises, a mature and honest record that took everyone by surprise and got them comparisons with bands such as Rise Against and Against Me!. Two years later, they drove all the way to the Windy City to work with acclaimed producer Matt Allison (Alkaline Trio, The Lawrence Arms, The Menzingers) on its follow-up. The result: Art Electic captures both the raw power and touching sensibility of the quartet. The band describes the recording process of the album as an amazing experience where they let loose and made no compromises on their sound. Now more than ever, The Hunters juggles with their very diverse influences ranging from heart-on-the-sleeves folk to blazing rock n’ roll to craft an unique brand of punk rock that is catchy and fierce.

Arliss Nancy – Pre-Order New LP On Black Numbers / Song Premiere on Absolute Punk

Arliss Nancy - New LP Available For Pre-Order From Black Numbers / Song Premiere on Absolute Punk

• Wild American Runners LP out in October on Black Numbers
• RIYL: Drive-By Truckers, Lucero, The Replacements, The Hold Steady, The Gaslight Anthem

——————————————————————————————————

Wild American Runners, the third full-length from alt-country band, Arliss Nancy(Fort Collins, CO), is now available for Pre-Order. You can stream the first single from the record, “Coals”, on Absolute Punk now. The album is officially out in October on Black Numbers.

Wild American Runners follows up Arliss Nancy’s 2012 album, Simple Machines, on Loose Charm Records. Also of note, the band’s first full-length, 2009′s Dance To Forget, is available for free download from Death To False Hope Records.

Formed in 2007, Arliss Nancy owe their sound to the dual influences of both Americana roots rock and gritty, bearded punk. From the outset, singer-songwriter Cory Call excelled at juxtaposing the simplicity of the classic American blue-collar songwriter with the subtlety and nuance of a well-read, withdrawn poet. Now, with nearly 6 years, 3 full length albums and 2 EPs under their belt, that dichotomy is as persistent as ever with the addition of bassist Kyle Oppold as half of the songwriting force behind Arliss Nancy’s Wild American Runners Black Numbers debut. The record will be immediately palatable to fans of alt-country mainstays like Lucero and Two Cow Garage, but the discerning ear will hear hints of a wide array of influences. From the dingy gravel of Midwestern pop punk to the whimsical balladry of Bruce Springsteen, Arliss Nancy’s sound is a triumph of contrasts, and they aim to prove it with their third full-length Wild American Runners.

You can stream the first single from I Don’t Need Forgiveness, “Above”, onAlternative Press now. Also, the band is set to embark on a five day run with Such Gold and Turnover. Check the tour dates below.

Placeholder originally formed under the moniker Coastal in March 2011. After playing together in various bands in the past, the band quickly bonded and began writing/recording. The band’s first demo/EP, Demonstration, was released in the Summer of 2011. Placeholder quickly entered the studio in the Fall to record their debut full-length. Titled Nothing Is Pure, and released in December of 2011, Placeholder made a giant splash on their proper debut. Staying busy, the band followed their debut LP up with the 2012 EP, Thought I Would Have Been Somebody By Now, once again delivering on the promise of their earlier releases. The band strikes a chord with their heavy and melodic brand of songwriting. Playing emotionally intense post-hardcore, Placeholder echo modern bands such as Balance & Composure and Polar Bear Club while paying homage to their past influences. Mature, focused and full of determination, Placeholder leave quite the impression.

• Full record streaming on Bandcamp
• “Call It A Comeback” Video on Alternative Press
• RIYL: The Gaslight Anthem, The Loved Ones, Polar Bear Club, Samiam, Hot Rod Circuit

——————————————————————————————————

Jersey City’s Banquets is heading out on tour in support of their sophomore Self-Titled LP which was released in May on Black Numbers. You can order the record from Black Numbers HERE. You can also stream/download the LP onBandcampSelf-Titled is the follow up to the band’s debut LP, Top Button, Bottom Shelf, which came out on Black Numbers in 2011.

Also, the band recently released a video for “Call It A Comeback” directed by Kevin Slack (Gaslight Anthem, Cursive, Bouncing Souls). The video can be viewed exclusively on Alternative Press.

Following up their brilliant debut LP, 2011′s Top Button, Bottom Shelf, Banquets return with a Self-Titled sophomore effort that continues the band’s no filler approach. Much like its predecessor, Self-Titled clocks in at 10 songs under 30 minutes but there is a bit more breathing room here as the band expands and hones their sound. Along with guitarist/vocalist, Dave Frenson and bassist Christ Larsen, the addition of Brian Maguire on drums has been key to the band’s growth. Lead singer, Travis Omilian, is the secret weapon though, hiding behind the band’s ultra tight melodic pop/punk. There is a worn romanticism and a nostalgic charm to Omilian’s lyrics. Combined with the band’s dynamic sense of urgency and uplifting spirit, Omilian’s lyrics give Banquets a depth that is rare to find in the genre these days. Self-Titled truly encompasses the band’s growth into a songwriting tour de force.

Banquets will be joined by Nightmares For A Week on the second leg of the tour. Dates are listed below. Full tour poster here. Banquets are also confirmed for FEST 12 in Gainesville, FL.

From death comes life. So goes the story of Crimes, the new band from ex-members of Static Radio NJ. As Static Radio was coming to an end in 2012, Crimes had already begun to take root. At Fest 11 the long running band played their last show under the Static Radio name. But, the final three members of Static Radio had been hatching plans, recording the Crimes debut EP even before that final Static Radio tour. Wanting a fresh start under a new name the three remaining members of Static Radio sound rejuvenated with Crimes. The band’s debut EP showcases a group revitalized by their new beginning and empowered by moving forward.
