• Both releases available as Free / Donation-Based Downloads from Quote Unquote + If You Make It

Beginning today, The Wild will embark on a three-week tour of the U.S., covering most of the Southeast and parts of the East Coast. Along the way the quintet will share the stage with The Taxpayers, as well as legendary punk band The Queers for a week and a half’s worth of shows. Also noteworthy is the New Year’s Eve show in The Wild’s hometown of Atlanta with Against Me!, Fake Problems, Ninja Gun and Franz Nicolay.

The Wild is touring in support of its 2011 releases, including A Collection and a Split 7″ with Pittsburgh friends Run, Forever. The former was released on CD by Asian Man Records and compiles all of the band’s out-of-print singles, EPs, live songs and split releases. You can grab a copy of the record from the label here. The latter is limited to 500 and was pressed on purple, green and black vinyl by Solidarity Recordings. Grab that one here.

As an added bonus, both albums are available as free / donation-based downloads. Quote Unquote Records released the mp3 version of A Collection here, while you can download the songs from the split 7″ from the good folks at If You Make It.

Stay tuned for more news regarding The Wild’s 2012 touring plans, as well as information about the band’s next full-length, which they’ve been writing for during the last couple months. As always, if you’d like to attend a show or speak with the band, drop me a line here.

Campaign – On Tour

CAMPAIGN – Tour Starts Today
——————————————————————————————————

* Short Summer Tour (8/10 – 8/14)
* Campaign added to Southeastern Hardcore Fest and The Fest 10
* Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! available for Free Download on If You Make It
* Campaign performs Nervous Energies session

——————————————————————————————————

CAMPAIGN (Atlanta, GA) are heading out for a short East Coast tour in support of the band’s newest EP, Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!. The band’s third EP is available for free download exclusively on If You Make It. Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! is the band’s follow-up to their highly-acclaimed 2010 EP, It Likes To Party.

In addition to these upcoming shows, Campaign have been added to the Southeastern Hardcore Fest in Chattanooga, TN in September and The Fest 10 in Gainesville.

Make sure you check out the Nervous Energies session the band performed earlier this year. Additionally, Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! and It Likes To Party are both streaming exclusively on Punknews.org.

With Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!, Campaign moves forward with their sound while still paying homage to their influences. Comparisons to beardcore favorites is inevitable but these four new songs move Campaign beyond all the usual suspects. Practicing a heavier approach, the band’s songs take on a whole new life often moving into thicker post-hardcore waters. The melody remains front and center in Campaign’s passionate hardcore anthems but the band has added new dimensions to their sound. The anger and vitriol have been ratcheted up a notch here as the dynamic five-piece sounds downright combustible. With Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Campaign prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are indeed the real deal.

Also, you can still download the band’s previous EPs, 2010′s It Likes To Party and 2009′s H1N1, for free here. How’s that for instant gratification!?

Campaign is heading out for select East Coast dates in support of Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! playing shows with Off With Their Heads, Dead To Me, Banquets and Worn In Red.

It’s been a busy summer for The Wild, to say the least. Fresh off a month-long U.S. tour and on the heels of a new Split 7″ with Run, Forever, the Atlanta, GA outfit is celebrating this week’s release of A Collection with a free / donation-based download of the 14-song effort.

Available on CD format from Asian Man Records, the aptly titled A Collection compiles all of The Wild’s out-of-print singles, EPs, live songs and split releases. You can grab a copy of the record from the label here. Only five bucks!

As an added bonus, the band has teamed up with Quote Unquote Records to release the digital version of A Collection as a free / donation-based download. For more info, go here. It’s also worth noting that the digital imprint also released The Wild’s 2010 full-length, Set Ourselves Free.

As if that wasn’t enough awesome free music, the good folks at If You Make It are currently offering The Wild’s recent split 7″ with Run, Forever as a complimentary download. The vinyl version of the record was released a few weeks ago (06/21/11) by Solidarity Recordings. Limited to 500 and pressed on black and color vinyl, you can pick up a copy of the 7″ here.

As previously mentioned, The Wild recently returned from an extensive U.S. tour. While the band is playing Anthony Fest next week and has been confirmed for FEST 10 and Athens Popfest in October, the five piece will spend most of the next few months writing songs for its next full-length.

If you’re interested in receiving a review copy of A Collection or the split 7″, send me an email. A box of both releases just showed up at my doorstep.

JUNIOR BATTLES – Premiers New Video for “BASEMENTS
——————————————————————————–

* Band discovers ratio of Copyright Infringement to Money Spent directly proportional to Overall Entertainment Value
* U.S Tour w/ O Pioneers!!! begins next week (10/20 -11/04)
* Self-Titled 7″ still available from Square Up Records

——————————————————————————————————

In an attempt to infringe on more copyrights and spend less money in two and a half minutes than any other band has dared in the past, Canadian punk quartet Junior Battles has unveiled the video for “Basements.”

Created by members of the the band in one coffee-fueled night of stealing and editing, the video not only spits in the face of trademark law, but also the memory of nearly every movie from my childhood. To view the zero budget greatness, go here.

“Basements” is the first single from the Toronto outfit’s Self-Titled 7″, which was released earlier this year on Square Up Records. Copies of the vinyl are still available from the label. The 4-song effort can also be downloaded for free from our friends at If You Make It.

Beginning next week, Junior Battles will embark on a two week tour of the U.S. with Houston’s O Pioneers!!!. The bands toured together earlier this year and recently shared a Split 7″ on Kiss Of Death Records.

On a semi-related note, last week an apparently starved-for-content AV Club featured O Pioneers!!! in an article titled “Viva Hate: 15 anti-Morrissey songs.” The accompanying video spotlights a live performance of the song by front man Eric Solomon with 3/4 of Junior Battles as his backing band.

As always, if you’d like to attend a show or speak with the band, drop me a line here.

Annabel – Summer Tour

ANNABEL – Summer Tour Begins Tomorrow ( May 13 – June 04 )
——————————————————————————–

* In support of Each And Everyone
* Album now streaming on Punknews.org
* Band records new EP / new song posted on Myspace

——————————————————————————–

Beginning tomorrow, Annabel is hitting the road for a Summer Tour that will find the band traveling from the East to the West Coast in the span of three weeks. The Kent, Ohio outfit continues to play shows in support its debut full-length, Each And Everyone, which was released by Count Your Lucky Stars in 2009.

You can currently stream the record in its entirety on Punknews.org. Additionally, Annabel has shot videos for two songs from the album, “As It Happened” and “People & Places.” A third track, “Sleeping Lions,” is available below as a free download as well.

Listen to “Sleeping Lions” ( Free mp3 )

As if that weren’t enough, you can still download the band’s self-released debut EP, Now That We’re Alive, from our friends at If You Make It.

Annabel’s upcoming tour also comes in anticipation of a newly recorded EP, Here We Are Tomorrow. The opening song, “The Forgetting of Names and Faces,” has been posted for your listening pleasure on the band’s Myspace Page. Release details for the EP are TBA.

Following up the success of its self-released EP, Now That We’re Alive, Annabel seizes the momentum with Each And Everyone. Youthful exuberance gives way to thoughtful maturity but the album never lacks the intoxicating energy of the band’s past work. Each And Everyone is noticeably more aggressive as the infectious melodies of the band have become razor sharp. Combining the instrumental dynamics of post rock with driving indie pop gives Annabel a unique charm and displays an outfit on the verge of greatness.

As always, if you’d like to attend a show or speak with the band, drop me a line here.

Junior Battles – U.S. Tour w/ O Pioneers!!!

JUNIOR BATTLES – U.S. Tour w/ O Pioneers!!! Begins Today (May 06 – 22)
——————————————————————————–

* In support of Self-Titled 7″ on Square Up Records
* Available for Free Download @ If You Make It
* Upcoming Split 7″ (w/ O Pioneers!!!) on Kiss Of Death announced

——————————————————————————————————

Beginning today, Toronto punk band Junior Battles will join Houston’s O Pioneers!!! for two weeks’ worth of shows throughout the U.S. and Canada (May 06 – 22).

The quartet is touring support of its latest Self-Titled 7″ release on Square Up Records, as well as an upcoming split 7″ between the two touring bands via Kiss Of Death. And as if playing shows and releasing records together wasn’t incestuous enough, for the duration of the tour, 3/4 of Junior Battles will provide their considerable talents as the backing band for O Pioneer’s front man, Eric Solomon.

Details of the split release are still forthcoming, but the Self-Titled 7″can be procured from Square Up here. Limited to a pressing of 500, the record is available on green / white (150) and grey marble (350) colorways.

Additionally, the 4-song effort can be downloaded for free from our friends at If You Make It. Free is good, right?

Recommended for fans of Jawbreaker, Green Day, Bad Religion and Saves The Day, this sweet slab of wax doesn’t ignore Junior Battles’ roots; the soaring harmonies and richly layered choruses are in full, glorious effect, and it’s apparent that the band’s heart still pumps in time with the beat of its esteemed influences. There’s a sharpening of the outfit’s sound though. Galloping rhythms and buzz-saw guitars propel the songs into more dynamic territories, while the lyrics hit harder with a cutting glance toward the rigmarole of the music industry as well as what it means to make the transition from a band that occasionally plays around town to one that has become a much bigger part of each member’s life.

As always, if you’d like to attend a show or speak with the band, drop me a line here.

PJ BOND – Touring UK / Europe (March 16 – 29)
——————————————————————————–

* In support of You Didn’t Know I Was Alphabetical
* PJ tackles the Pink Couch

——————————————————————————–

New Jersey native PJ Bond – who for the past year has spent the majority of his days living out of his car, playing shows, crashing on couches and generally making a lot of new roommates – will embark on a month-long tour of the U.K. and mainland Europe beginning on Tuesday, March 16th.

Bond continues to tour in support of his latest full-length, You Didn’t Know I Was Alphabetical, which was released in late 2009 by Black Numbers in LP and CD format.

The ex-Outsmarting Simon front man has played in bands such as The Color Fred, Marigold and Communipaw, but in comparison to previous endeavors, Alphabetical is a decidedly more organic, homespun affair. It’s a heartfelt slice of creaky, back porch Americana tossed against a perfectly catchy pop backdrop. Still, Bond throws a little bit of everything into the mix, from rustic, up tempo alt-country rockers to haunting, melancholy acoustic offerings and sweetly infectious indie numbers.

Listen to “You, Too” (free mp3)

- A brilliant collection of songs ranging from Matt Pond PA to early Wilco folk-rockers. The whole album ebbs and flows from one emotional chord to another with ease. Verbicide
- Bond’s eloquence and clarity approaches Paul Westerberg / Elliott Smith standards in terms of making the mundane sound essential, and vice versa. No Depression
- Bond combines compelling storytelling sensibilities with sobering reflections, underpinned by lush melodies and more than a hint of melancholy.Rock Sound

On a related note, Bond recently partook in the famed Pink Couch Sessions for the inimitable IfYouMakeIt.com. You can watch him perform the song “Baby Bones” here.

As always, if you’d like to attend a show or speak with PJ, drop me a line here.

Tiny Engines To Release Everyone Everywhere LP

TINY ENGINES To Release EVERYONE EVERYWHERE LP
——————————————————-

* Pre-order Self-Titled 12″ (out 05/04/10)
* Band now streaming two brand new songs
* Download 2009 debut 7″ for FREE @ If You Make It

——————————————————-

Tiny Engines is pleased to announce that it will release the Self-Titled debut full-length from Philadelphia’s Everyone Everywhere.

The album, which will be released in vinyl and digital formats on May 04, 2010, is now up for pre-order from the label. Tiny Engines will press 500 12-inches on maroon and off-white colorways (350 / 150). To secure a copy of this amazing record, go here.

The band is currently streaming two brand new songs, “Tiny Boat” and “Blown Up Grown Up,” on its Myspace page.

Everyone Everywhere’s eponymous debut builds on the rock-solid foundation laid down on last year’s dynamic 7″, A Lot Of Weird People Standing Around, and further pushes the band’s sonic palette in exciting new directions at every turn. Sure, those lovely Promise Ring vibes remain – not to mention hints of Braid’s twisting-yet-tuneful angularity, the crackling anti-anthems of indie heroes Superchunk and Piebald’s off-kilter sense of melody – but the Philly four piece has honed its songwriting chops, dialed in its amps and seriously upped the ante with this emotionally taut ten-song affair.

On a related note, Everyone Everywhere and Evil Weevil Records, the label responsible for the 7″ version of A Lot Of Weird People Standing Around, have teamed up with the awesome folks at If You Make It to give away a digital copy of the 4-song effort. To download this sweet little release, completely free from financial obligation, go here.
