ANNABEL – Summer Tour Begins Tomorrow ( May 13 – June 04 )
——————————————————————————–

* In support of Each And Everyone
* Album now streaming on Punknews.org
* Band records new EP / new song posted on Myspace

——————————————————————————–

Beginning tomorrow, Annabel is hitting the road for a Summer Tour that will find the band traveling from the East to the West Coast in the span of three weeks. The Kent, Ohio outfit continues to play shows in support its debut full-length, Each And Everyone, which was released by Count Your Lucky Stars in 2009.

You can currently stream the record in its entirety on Punknews.org. Additionally, Annabel has shot videos for two songs from the album, “As It Happened” and “People & Places.” A third track, “Sleeping Lions,” is available below as a free download as well.

Listen to “Sleeping Lions” ( Free mp3 )

As if that weren’t enough, you can still download the band’s self-released debut EP, Now That We’re Alive, from our friends at If You Make It.

Annabel’s upcoming tour also comes in anticipation of a newly recorded EP, Here We Are Tomorrow. The opening song, “The Forgetting of Names and Faces,” has been posted for your listening pleasure on the band’s Myspace Page. Release details for the EP are TBA.

Following up the success of its self-released EP, Now That We’re Alive, Annabel seizes the momentum with Each And Everyone. Youthful exuberance gives way to thoughtful maturity but the album never lacks the intoxicating energy of the band’s past work. Each And Everyone is noticeably more aggressive as the infectious melodies of the band have become razor sharp. Combining the instrumental dynamics of post rock with driving indie pop gives Annabel a unique charm and displays an outfit on the verge of greatness.

As always, if you’d like to attend a show or speak with the band, drop me a line here.

Junior Battles – U.S. Tour w/ O Pioneers!!!

JUNIOR BATTLES – U.S. Tour w/ O Pioneers!!! Begins Today (May 06 – 22)
——————————————————————————–

* In support of Self-Titled 7″ on Square Up Records
* Available for Free Download @ If You Make It
* Upcoming Split 7″ (w/ O Pioneers!!!) on Kiss Of Death announced

——————————————————————————————————

Beginning today, Toronto punk band Junior Battles will join Houston’s O Pioneers!!! for two weeks’ worth of shows throughout the U.S. and Canada (May 06 – 22).

The quartet is touring support of its latest Self-Titled 7″ release on Square Up Records, as well as an upcoming split 7″ between the two touring bands via Kiss Of Death. And as if playing shows and releasing records together wasn’t incestuous enough, for the duration of the tour, 3/4 of Junior Battles will provide their considerable talents as the backing band for O Pioneer’s front man, Eric Solomon.

Details of the split release are still forthcoming, but the Self-Titled 7″can be procured from Square Up here. Limited to a pressing of 500, the record is available on green / white (150) and grey marble (350) colorways.

Additionally, the 4-song effort can be downloaded for free from our friends at If You Make It. Free is good, right?

Recommended for fans of Jawbreaker, Green Day, Bad Religion and Saves The Day, this sweet slab of wax doesn’t ignore Junior Battles’ roots; the soaring harmonies and richly layered choruses are in full, glorious effect, and it’s apparent that the band’s heart still pumps in time with the beat of its esteemed influences. There’s a sharpening of the outfit’s sound though. Galloping rhythms and buzz-saw guitars propel the songs into more dynamic territories, while the lyrics hit harder with a cutting glance toward the rigmarole of the music industry as well as what it means to make the transition from a band that occasionally plays around town to one that has become a much bigger part of each member’s life.

As always, if you’d like to attend a show or speak with the band, drop me a line here.

PJ BOND – Touring UK / Europe (March 16 – 29)
——————————————————————————–

* In support of You Didn’t Know I Was Alphabetical
* PJ tackles the Pink Couch

——————————————————————————–

New Jersey native PJ Bond – who for the past year has spent the majority of his days living out of his car, playing shows, crashing on couches and generally making a lot of new roommates – will embark on a month-long tour of the U.K. and mainland Europe beginning on Tuesday, March 16th.

Bond continues to tour in support of his latest full-length, You Didn’t Know I Was Alphabetical, which was released in late 2009 by Black Numbers in LP and CD format.

The ex-Outsmarting Simon front man has played in bands such as The Color Fred, Marigold and Communipaw, but in comparison to previous endeavors, Alphabetical is a decidedly more organic, homespun affair. It’s a heartfelt slice of creaky, back porch Americana tossed against a perfectly catchy pop backdrop. Still, Bond throws a little bit of everything into the mix, from rustic, up tempo alt-country rockers to haunting, melancholy acoustic offerings and sweetly infectious indie numbers.

Listen to “You, Too” (free mp3)

- A brilliant collection of songs ranging from Matt Pond PA to early Wilco folk-rockers. The whole album ebbs and flows from one emotional chord to another with ease. Verbicide
- Bond’s eloquence and clarity approaches Paul Westerberg / Elliott Smith standards in terms of making the mundane sound essential, and vice versa. No Depression
- Bond combines compelling storytelling sensibilities with sobering reflections, underpinned by lush melodies and more than a hint of melancholy.Rock Sound

On a related note, Bond recently partook in the famed Pink Couch Sessions for the inimitable IfYouMakeIt.com. You can watch him perform the song “Baby Bones” here.

As always, if you’d like to attend a show or speak with PJ, drop me a line here.

Tiny Engines To Release Everyone Everywhere LP

TINY ENGINES To Release EVERYONE EVERYWHERE LP
——————————————————-

* Pre-order Self-Titled 12″ (out 05/04/10)
* Band now streaming two brand new songs
* Download 2009 debut 7″ for FREE @ If You Make It

——————————————————-

Tiny Engines is pleased to announce that it will release the Self-Titled debut full-length from Philadelphia’s Everyone Everywhere.

The album, which will be released in vinyl and digital formats on May 04, 2010, is now up for pre-order from the label. Tiny Engines will press 500 12-inches on maroon and off-white colorways (350 / 150). To secure a copy of this amazing record, go here.

The band is currently streaming two brand new songs, “Tiny Boat” and “Blown Up Grown Up,” on its Myspace page.

Everyone Everywhere’s eponymous debut builds on the rock-solid foundation laid down on last year’s dynamic 7″, A Lot Of Weird People Standing Around, and further pushes the band’s sonic palette in exciting new directions at every turn. Sure, those lovely Promise Ring vibes remain – not to mention hints of Braid’s twisting-yet-tuneful angularity, the crackling anti-anthems of indie heroes Superchunk and Piebald’s off-kilter sense of melody – but the Philly four piece has honed its songwriting chops, dialed in its amps and seriously upped the ante with this emotionally taut ten-song affair.

On a related note, Everyone Everywhere and Evil Weevil Records, the label responsible for the 7″ version of A Lot Of Weird People Standing Around, have teamed up with the awesome folks at If You Make It to give away a digital copy of the 4-song effort. To download this sweet little release, completely free from financial obligation, go here.
