Their ideals and the way they do business and treat others is exactly in line with the standards to which we hold of ourselves at Tiny Engines. To not only join No Idea, but other exclusive labels such as Asian Man, Don Giovanni and Poison City … it has us extremely excited, to say the least. Our records will now be available worldwide at a low cost from some of the best DIY / punk distributors and independent stores out there. We are humbled that No Idea has invited us to join its tight-knit family and we can’t wait to start working together to keep Tiny Engines and its bands thriving for the foreseeable future.”

The band will head into the studio later this month with Jay Maas(Title Fight, Transit, Polar Bear Club) to record their debut LP for Fall release on Tiny Engines. Tiny Engines Welcomes Frontier(s)

By , 26 March, 2013, 2 Comments

Tiny Engines To Release New 7″ From Frontier(s)

• Frontier(s) features members of Elliott, Falling Forward, Mouthpiece, The Enkindels
• Band set to record next week with Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, Young Widows, Coliseum)

——————————————————————————–

Tiny Engines (Dikembe, Restorations, Tigers Jaw) is excited to welcome Louisville, KY’s Frontier(s) to the family. The band will be recording 3-4 songs next week for a new 7″, to be released later this year on the Carolina-based label.

Frontier(s) features former Elliott / Falling Forward front man Chris Higdon and Matt Wieder (guitar) of Mouthpiece / The Enkindels. The new 7″ will follow up the band’s debut LP, There Will Be No Miracles Here, issued on Arena Rock and No Sleep in 2010. The band is set to record once again with Elliott / Wax Fang drummer Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, Young Widows, Coliseum) at La La Land Studios in the band’s hometown of Louisville, KY.

Much like the city it calls home, Frontier(s) is hopelessly Midwestern. Louisville never accepted east or west coast definitions of post-anything, and the quartet is no different. Serrating guitars, tightly wound bass, and dime-stop drums are the brick to Higdon’s mortar as he switches between airy tones and boot-shaking roar. The band channels enough hardcore angst and Husker Du-style buzzsaw guitar to make even the most jaded scenester flip their wig, while featuring pounding rhythms and a swirling wall of sound that land the listener somewhere smack in the middle of post-punk England and Washington D.C.’s Revolution Summer.

Cloaking pop smarts under blankets of echoes bounced off last night’s full moon, still ringing in the squinty-eyed hangover morning. Shimmer and swoon forward and back like a chorus for the night, to consume by day. Anthems for your cloudy nocturnal courage.

Little Big League Joins Tiny Engines / Song Premiere on Absolute Punk

LITTLE BIG LEAGUE Joins Tiny Engines / Song Premiere On Absolute Punk

• Debut LP, These Are Good People, coming Summer of 2013 on Tiny Engines
• “My Very Own You” premiering on Absolute Punk
• Debut 7″ Single Available for Stream / Purchase
• Artwork & Tracklisting / More Song Premieres Coming Soon
• RIYL: Hop Along, Built To Spill, Sleater-Kinney, Now, Now

——————————————————————————–

Tiny Engines (Dikembe, Restorations, Tigers Jaw) is proud to welcome Philadelphia’s Little Big League to their expanding roster. The band recently recorded their debut full-length which the label will release in the Summer of 2013. You can stream the first single, “My Very Own You”, from the album, These Are Good People, at Absolute Punk.

As well, you can stream and/or purchase Little Big League’s debut 7″ single directly from Tiny Engines. The 7″ A-Side features an early recorded version of the track, “Tokyo Drift”, which will also appear on These Are Good People. Every 7″ purchase from Tiny Engines will receive an instant download for the first single from the LP, “My Very Own You,” along with the 7″ tracks as well. Artwork, tracklisting and more song premieres from the upcoming LP will be coming soon.

You can also check out live videos for “Tokyo Drift” as well as another album track, “Never Have I Ever Walked Away When The Time Was Right.”

In the Fall of 2011, Michelle Zauner and Kevin O’Halloran (previously of Post Post) joined forces with Ian Dykstra (Titus Andronicus) and Deven Craige (Strand of Oaks) to form Little Big League. Shortly thereafter the band recorded their debut 7″. Released in April of 2012, the two songs offered a glimpse into the band’s promising future, which after months of writing and playing live took solid form in their debut LP These Are Good People.

The band’s debt to 90s indie guitar rock is respectfully paid while Zauner’s gorgeously unique vocal stylings and striking lyrical imagery add to the album’s dark atmosphere. There is a level of tension and impending danger built, both lyrically and musically, that revels in the vulnerability of us all. These Are Good People is an album about coming of age, loss, and the overwhelming acceptance of reality over a failed romanticism. Due out this Summer on Tiny Engines, the album is a stunning indie rock debut from the Philadelphia quartet.

Signals Midwest Recording New Album For Tiny Engines

By , 7 March, 2013, 1 Comment

SIGNALS MIDWEST - Recording New Album for Summer Release on Tiny Engines

• New LP coming Summer of 2013 on Tiny Engines
• Latitudes And Longitudes LP 2nd pressing pre-order available now
• March/April shows announced / Band playing Stay Sweet Fest
• New Album Details Coming Soon

——————————————————————————————————

Cleveland, OH’s Signals Midwest is set to begin recording their new LP this weekend. The band will once again record at Bad Racket in Cleveland. The new album is expected to be released this Summer on Tiny Engines (Tigers Jaw, Dikembe, Restorations, Run, Forever). This will be the follow up to Signals Midwest’s highly-acclaimed sophomore album, Latitudes And Longitudes, which came out in the Fall of 2011. The 2nd pressing is now available for Pre-Order.

Frontman Max Stern had this to say about the new record:

I like making records because they’re both a reflection of where a band has been and where they’re at in that particular moment. Geographically, musically, mentally, – the setting and experience come through one way or another. I wrote these songs in a living room in Portland, in a basement in Brooklyn, at a bus station in Tel Aviv, in an attic in Cleveland, and in the back of a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan that may have been pretty much anywhere in the continental United States. Two years to the day after making our last record, we’re going back into the same studio to create something new. Contained within those two years have been incredible highs, crushing lows, long tours, practices, arguments, inside jokes, spectacular views, friends and lovers lost and found, and everything else that life seems to accumulate regardless of whatever the “plan” seems to be. I hope some of that experience shines through on this record, if only just to see where we’re at and where we might end up.

Rarely do you come across a young band that startles you with such inherent quality. While Cleveland, Ohio’s Signals Midwest might be rooted in the ethos of punk rock the band quickly transcends the tag both musically and lyrically on their sophomore album, Latitudes And Longitudes. Paying tribute to the continual growth of legends like Small Brown Bike and Fairweather while echoing the emotional tones of modern bands such as The Menzingers, Signals Midwest provide a unique perspective that resides firmly outside the punk-by-the-numbers formula. Call it post-pop/punk if you will.

Signals Midwest will be playing a few shows in March and April including Stay Sweet Fest in Richmond, VA. The band will hit the road hard this Summer in support of the upcoming LP.

Cayetana Joins Tiny Engines

Cayetana Joins Tiny Engines

• Writing for Debut LP / Recording this Summer
• Demo EP featured on If You Make It
• Cayetana playing Waxahatchee release show/party with Swearin’ and Radiator Hospital
• Tom May of The Menzingers recommends…

——————————————————————————–

Tiny Engines (Dikembe, Restorations, Tigers Jaw) is thrilled to welcome Philadelphia’s Cayetana to their growing roster. The band debuted theirDemo EP in December 2012 and it was quickly met with rave reviews from the punk community. If You Make It recently featured Cayetana’s Demo in their albums section. You can download it for free (donations encouraged!)HERE.

Cayetana is currently writing and playing shows in preparation of recording their debut LP this Summer for Tiny Engines. A Fall release is tentatively scheduled for the album. On Friday, March 1st Cayetana will be a part of the Waxahatchee release show/party along with Swearin’ and Radiator Hospital at The Golden Tea House. More tour dates coming soon!

Long time listeners, first time callers “Cayetana” have been around the Philadelphia music scene for quite a while. These three ladies came together about a year ago, which also happens to be when they started playing their instruments. This has let them develop a chemistry that takes other bands years to achieve, if at all. They’ve jumped head first with their clothes on into the pool at the raging party that is the Philadelphia punk scene. Their self-released demo/e.p. is quite the piece of ear candy. The contemplative and sometimes poignant lyrics delivered in a sincere and oft-urgent croon are perfectly complimented with a locked-in rhythm section comprising of melodious bass lines and driven, hoppy work on the skins. You can expect to hear a lot more from Cayetana in the coming months. Have a listen.

Best Practices – Announce New EP / Available For Download

BEST PRACTICES - Announce New EP / Available Now

• Sore Subjects available now on Bandcamp
• The EP LP 12″ available from Tiny Engines
• Artwork/Tracklisting Released

——————————————————————————————————

Best Practices have announced their new EP, Sore Subjects, is available now for name-your-price download on Bandcamp. The EP is the follow-up to the band’s highly acclaimed The EP LP which came out on Tiny Engines(Tigers Jaw, Restorations, Dikembe) in the Spring of 2012. You can stream The EP LP here and purchase the vinyl here.

Crafted over a mild winter, Providence, RI’s Best Practices return with Sore Subjects. Some of the members have called the sophomore effort “a natural progression” from their debut The EP LP. Other members are more concerned with Poco Loco Tacos to be trifled with such nonsense as reflection. Clocking in around 11 minutes with 4 songs, Sore Subjects is a taste of something equal parts familiar, refreshing, aggressive, and passionate. Narcs need not apply.

Featuring current/former members of Light The Fuse And Run, Wow, Owls!, Weak Teeth and Jesuscentric, Best Practices is a return to the fundamentals of punk rock. On the band’s Tiny Engines debut, The EP LP, the quartet lets loose a whirlwind of (garage power pop) punk fury. Recorded with Will Killingsworth (Orchid, Ampere) at Dead Air Studios, Best Practices pummel their way through 9 songs in 12 glorious minutes. The band comes close to careening off the edge at points but never seem to overtake themselves. Chock full of razor sharp hooks Best Practices lays down a furious gauntlet that is as catchy as it is exhausting. All your left with as The EP LP fires towards the finish line is the feeling that you just want to do it all over again.

“If Dillinger Four grew up listening to Joyce Manor and played with the energy and rowdiness of early The Replacements it might sound like this.” AMP
“The EP LP is a one-sided 12-inch of punk that rests right in between Dillinger Four and Hot Snakes, with a little bit of twinkly emo sneaking in. It’s supremely angular and rousing garage rock.” - Punknews.org
“I’ve been listening to this on repeat – easily one of my favourite releases of 2012 so far.” - Collective Zine
“Forget Fucked Up!, Best Practices is where it’s at in 2012! How is this band not blowing up already?” - Rock Freaks

SPRINGTIME Joins TINY ENGINES / Prepare Debut 7″ For Spring Release

• Debut 7″ Coming in the Spring
• Stream/download 2012 Demo
• Spring Tour upcoming

——————————————————————————————————

Tiny Engines (Dikembe, Restorations, State Faults, Signals Midwest) is stoked to welcome Richmond, VA’s SPRINGTIME to its growing roster. The label will release the band’s official debut on 7″ vinyl in the Spring. You can download the band’s 2012 Demo for free HERE.

Playing D.C.-styled hardcore in the vein of Dag Nasty and early End Of A Year, Richmond, VA’s Springtime brims with energy and an unmistakeable old school flare. Forming in late 2011 and featuring members of Family Cat, Tiger Tail and Cheyenne, Springtime’s self-released demo was released only a few months later in March 2012. The songs showcase a maturity that is striking for such a young, wet-behind-the-ears band. The tension and tenacity of Springtime is palpable as the first chords explode. The passion of early DC emocore from Rites of Spring to Dag Nasty shines through in sharp bouts of energy that emanate from the band’s songs. With short bursts of melodic fury and dueling, angular guitars over gruff but enticing vocals the band never fails to keep your undivided attention at all times. Mixed with the melodic punk/hardcore of scene giants like Leatherface, Texas Is The Reason and Lifetime, Springtime pay fitting tribute to their influences while confidently blazing their own path.

Springtime played The Fest 11 in October and just finished a few dates with labelmates, Run, Forever and State Lines. The band has one more January date scheduled. More tour dates to come.

BIO
——————————————————————————–

It was surprising to virtually no one – save for Dikembe itself – that Chicago Bowls, in all its anthemic, adrenalized indie-cum-emo / punk greatness, took the underground by storm last year. The ironic, pun-laden ode to weed and arguably (and less ironically) the greatest championship squad in NBA history was a breath of fresh air … playful, charismatic and downright infectious without emitting an ounce of pretension. Four revelatory cuts of undeniable, high energy DIY rock ‘n’ roll, Chicago Bowls cajoled the listener to laugh along with song titles such as “Scottie Spliffen” and “Michael Jordank.” There was no doubt that Dikembe’s playful nature was an integral part of its singular sound, and perhaps one of the biggest reasons why we couldn’t wait to hear what the outfit conjured up next.

Accordingly, it would have been easy for Dikembe to rush its debut full-length, but the band wisely spent the appropriate amount of time recording and mixing the ten amazing songs that would eventually make up highly anticipated Broad Shoulders. And from the first long-awaited note, it’s clear that there’s something truly unique manifesting itself Dikembe’s signature sound – powerhouse rhythms, the acrobatic back-and-forth between the guitars and front man Steven Gray’s confident-yet-completely raw and exposed delivery – is all still present, and it’s imparted with even more vigor and conviction than ever before. However, album highlights such as “I Watch A Lot Of Jackie Chan Movies” and “Not Today, Angel” are thoughtful, nuanced and occasionally even haunting. They help to paint a picture of an evolving band and a record that is not only imaginative and memorable, but one that is fully realized and worthy of all the hype.

Restorations Signs to SideOneDummy + Other Tiny Engines News

By , 8 August, 2012, No Comment

RESTORATIONS Joins SideOneDummy

• Band begins recording new full-length next week
Self-Titled LP – 2nd pressing now available for pre-order
• New Mail order items for Tigers Jaw, Annabel, Everyone Everywhere & Best Practices
• Plus updates and other news for Run, Forever, I Got Brains Fest& more!

——————————————————————————–

• First up, a million high-fives to RESTORATIONS for signing with venerable Los Angeles-based punk label SideOneDummy. Our favorite Philly quintet now shares a home with the Gaslight Anthem, Flogging Molly, Anti-Flag, Chuck Ragan and Title Fight. That’s pretty amazing if you ask me. We’ve known Jon and Dave from Restorations for well over seven years and it’s extremely gratifying to see those guys move on to the next level. They truly deserve it.

In any case, you can read all the details over at Punknews.org. The short version is that in one week the band will begin recording its sophomore full-length at Miner Street Studios in Philadelphia with producer Jon Low (Kurt Vile, Dr. Dog, mewithoutYou). The record is the follow-up to 2011′s Self-Titled debut, released by yours truly.

And speaking of that, the 2nd pressing of said Self-Titled 12″ is now up for pre-order. LPs will ship in 2-3 weeks and are also available as a package deal with Restorations’ latest 7-inch, A/B.

Don’t forget that Restorations will travel to Australia at the end of the month for a tour with The Smith Street Band (Poison City Records). You can view the dates here.

• While we’re on the topic of represses, we also have pre-orders available for the 3rd pressing of the Spirit Desire 7″ from Scranton, PA’s favorite sons (and daughter), TIGERS JAW. The band has a bunch of shows in August, so catch them on tour if you can!

• Moving on, we’ve got test pressings and limited-edition prints for ANNABEL‘s Here We Are Tomorrow 7″. Designed and hand-screened / numbered by our pal Justin Nottke from the Wild Method Workshop, there are 15 test + print combos and 25 prints available. For more information, go here. And if you get a chance, check out Wild Method for lots of great videos featuring the likes of The Hotel Year, Dowsing, Young Statues and a little-known band called Thrice.

• Next in the queue – the brand new Self-Titled 12″ LP from EVERYONE EVERYWHERE (who just left for a month-long tour of Europe) is now for sale in our store. Yes, the band named the record the same thing as the first Tiny Engines-issued Self-Titled LP. True, they recently filmed what is essentially a 40-minute movie of themselves sleeping while the new album plays as the soundtrack. And I can’t deny that Everyone Everywhere once gifted my wife and I a very questionable table wine. Still, despite their charming eccentricities, there’s no doubt that this Philly outfit creates some incredible music and the new record is certainly indicative of the band’s progression as top-notch songwriters.

• While I’ve got amazing songwriters on my mind, let me remind you that the screen-printed vinyl version of BEST PRACTICES‘ debut, The EP LP, is now in. You can see a photo of these bad boys here. This is one of our favorite releases all year and we highly recommend that everyone check it out. You’ll never know how absolutely satisfying that 12 minutes of rip-roaring, garage-cum-power-pop punk rock fury can sound until you give it a try. Listen to this free mp3 for the song “Future Cougar.”

• Finally, in the “mail order is fun” category, we now have TINY ENGINES KOOZIES available for sale. Making koozies is something that every young label dreams of and we get a little bit choked up reminiscing about how far we’ve come. Imagine … four years ago we could have never afforded koozies. Now we’ve got 100 of em, and they cost $4 each. Try to wrap your brain around that. Thanks to Eric and Val at Night Owls Print Shop for the great printing job on these!

• In other label news, the RUN, FOREVER masters for Settling have been approved and on Monday (August 13th) we’ll be teaming up with our friends at Alternative Press to premier a brand new track from the band’s upcoming sophomore full-length. The record will see an early-October release date on vinyl and digital formats. Also, Run, Forever is about to embark on a 12-day tour with recent No Sleep Records signees Adventures (3/4 of Code Orange Kids). Even more exciting is that Run, Forever is currently booking shows for five-week U.S. tour in October and November, including an appearance at this year’s FEST in Gainesville, FL.

• Home stretch here, kids! I just wanted to remind everyone that if you live anywhere remotely near Blacksburg, VA, you should definitely buy a ticket for this weekend’s I GOT BRAINS FEST. Unfortunately we’ll miss Friday’s shows; too bad because I’ve yet to catch Cattle Drums live – and also Planes Mistaken For Stars and The Menzingers are playing – but Tiny Engines will have a table at the “Brain Market” / registration on Saturday and I’ll be front and center for sets from Dikembe, Run, Forever and Best Practices. Other bands confirmed for the weekend include Creepoid, You Blew It!, Bridge and Tunnel, The Saddest Landscape, Laura Stevenson, Into It. Over It and many more.

RUN, FOREVER Joins Tiny Engines

Settling: New Full-Length Out early Fall 2012 on 12″ + Digital formats
• Band recording with Dave Rosenstraus(ex-Pissed Jeans)

——————————————————————————–

Tiny Engines (Tigers Jaw, Restorations, CSTVT, Look Mexico) is excited to welcome Run, Forever to its growing roster of bands. The independent label will release the Pittsburgh, PA outfit’s newest full-length, Settling, in the Fall of 2012 on 12″ vinyl and digital formats.

Currently, Run, Forever is at the Braddock Hit Factory Studio with ex-Pissed Jeans bassist Dave Rosenstraus finishing up with recording and mixing for the ten songs that will appear on Settling. The album is the follow-up to the punk trio’s well-received 2010 debut long-player, The Devil, And Death, And Me, which was released by Solidarity Recordings. Last year Run, Forever released an EP titled A Few Good Things, as well as a Split with Atlanta’s The Wild, which can be downloaded for free at If You Make It. Both 7-inches were also issued by Solidarity.

To watch a great video for the title track from The Devil, And Death, And Me, go here. You can also download the song “A Sequence Of Sad Events” (free mp3).

Known for its tireless work ethic and resolute DIY attitude, Run, Forever has spent much of the last two years on the road, playing to enthusiastic fans in tiny clubs, sweaty basements and crowded house shows around the country. From fist-pumping, sing-along punk anthems to swinging folk rockers to more intimate acoustic numbers, the outfit’s songs touch on issues such as the corruption of organized religion, politics and – on its debut – the struggle to overcome the tragic loss of former band mate. Run, Forever never fails to impress with its ability to write driving, gritty tunes without sacrificing melody or falling into predictability, and its music is one of those rare specimens that resonates profoundly in both our ears and our hearts.

Stay tuned for plenty more Run, Forever news in the coming months, including final artwork and track listing, exclusive song premieres and a full U.S. tour in October leading up to FEST 11. Also, be sure to follow Tiny Engines’ Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter pages for all the latest updates.

Dikembe – New Song Premier From Broad Shoulders LP On Tiny Engines

DIKEMBE – Debut Full-Length Completed / New Song Premier

Broad Shoulders: out this Summer from Tiny Engines on 12″ Vinyl + Digital formats
Alternative Press Premier: Exclusive song stream for “We Could Become River Rats
• Artwork / Track Listing revealed, live videos, fest confirmations + more!

——————————————————————————–

Tiny Engines (Tigers Jaw, Restorations, CSTVT, Everyone Everywhere) is stoked to announce the completion and upcoming release of Broad Shoulders, the long-awaited, occasionally delayed debut full-length from Gainesville, FL’s Dikembe.

Lovingly referred to as the “Chinese Democracy of Emo,” the ten-song album is tentatively scheduled for a mid-Summer release on 12″ vinyl and digital formats, with pre-orders launching in June. Broad Shoulders is the follow up to Dikembe’s 2011 digital EP, Chicago Bowls, which is currently available for free download.

To celebrate today’s announcement, Tiny Engines and Dikembe have teamed up with Alternative Press for an exclusive debut of the song “We Could Become River Rats.” To stream the first single from Broad Shoulders, go here.

TRACK LISTING
——————————————————————————–

01. Nothing. Stuff.
02. Apology Not Fucking Accepted
03. I Watch A Lot Of Jackie Chan Movies
04. We Could Become River Rats
05. I Just Don’t Understand What All These Kids Dig About Him
06. Not Today, Angel
07. Librarians Kill For That Kind Of Quiet
08. That’s How What Works
09. I’m Gonna Deck Your Halls, Bub!
10. Sorry I Can’t Stick Around

In related news, Dikembe has been confirmed for this year’s FEST 11 in Gainesville and more recently, the I Got Brains Fest in Blacksburg, VA in August. Speaking of live performances, check out live renditions of new songs from Broad Shoulders here and here. Of course, we’ll be premiering more exclusive tracks in the next couple months as well. Be sure to follow Tiny Engines’ Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter pages for more breaking news and other exciting announcements.

CATTLE DRUMS – Spring Tour Announced
——————————————————————————————————

* Spring Tour (5/17 – 5/31)
* New demos up on the Cattle Drums Bandcamp
* Debut LP coming Fall 2012 on Tiny Engines
* The Boy Kisser Sessions + 3 available for free download on Bandcamp
* Sample “Who Punched Pat Moore’s Face” from RCRD LBL

——————————————————————————————————

Cattle Drums (Oneonta, NY) are heading out for a two week Spring tour ahead of finishing recording on their debut LP, due out in the Fall of 2012 on Tiny Engines (Tigers Jaw, Restorations, CSTVT, Look Mexico). You can hear two early demos from the upcoming album at the Cattle Drums Bandcamp.

The band’s debut LP will be the follow up to The Boy Kisser Sessions + 3 EP which was released digitally on Tiny Engines in 2011. The Boy Kisser Sessions + 3 is an eight song collection that put together the original debut of the band with three newer tracks that were recorded near the end of 2010. The EP can be downloaded for free here. Of course you can still download via iTunes as well.

You can sample the track “Who Punched Pat Moore’s Face” on RCRD LBL. Additionally, you can listen to “Sluts And Coconuts” from The Boy Kisser Sessions + 3 (mp3)

Remember when indie music was wild and unpredictable? Remember when bands were hard to pigeonhole into neat little sub-genres? Well, Cattle Drums will remind you if you have forgotten. Hailing from upstate NY, you might shrug your shoulders at a band named Cattle Drums but you would be remiss by doing so. Mixing post-punk, emo/hardcore, shards of math rock and even traces of dark Americana, Cattle Drums distinguish themselves as purveyors of a sound not yet recognizable to our pampered, innocent ears. Lyrically ambiguous and instrumentally ambitious with harsh, aggressive tones, Cattle Drums truly are a wild awakening for the senses. These songs truly defy classification and open the listener up to create their own unique interpretation of the Cattle Drums sound. Need a shock to the system to break you from the mundane of the daily grind? Delve into the madness of the Cattle Drums experience and witness a band operating only by their keen sense of artistic expression. Eccentric and chaotic yet always melodic and intoxicating, Cattle Drums are kicking up dust and noise unlike anybody else right now. Just imagine what is yet to come.

* Stream tracks on Punknews.org and Alternative Press
* Band named one of Alternative Press’ 100 Bands You Need To Know in 2012

——————————————————————————————————

Welcome Home, the sophomore full-length from Durham, NC rock band Red Collar, is now available for pre-order from Tiny Engines (Tigers Jaw, CSTVT, Look Mexico, Restorations). The 12″ LP will see a June 12, 2012 release date. Also worth noting, all vinyl pre-orders come with an instant mp3 download for the 10-song album. The album is also available for early digital purchase here.

All pre-orders will be entered to win a test pressing of the record. There are also vinyl combo packs and vinyl + tee packages available.

You can hear a brand new song, “Choices” on Punknews.org. Also, “American Me” can be heard on Alternative Press as well. The band was recently named as one of Alternative Press’ 100 Bands You Need To Know in 2012 along with fellow Tiny Engines labelmates, Signals Midwest (Issue #285).

Three years in the making, Red Collar’s Welcome Home fulfills the promise of the band’s acclaimed debut full-length, 2009′s Pilgrim. Welcome Home continues the tradition of heart pounding indie punk & roll from the Durham, NC quartet but expands the palette with dynamic results. Red Collar combine the jagged rhythms of DC punk along with the soulful, working class spirit and lyrical bend of bands like The Hold Steady and The Gaslight Anthem. Never shying away from their influences, the band proudly displays the earnestness of Springsteen, the boldness of The Replacements and the swagger of The Clash firmly on their sleeves. All that you know and love about Red Collar remains but Welcome Home opens up into hauntingly beautiful songwriting territory that touches on the timelessness of Americana roots. Red Collar is back and they are better than ever! Welcome home indeed.

Red Collar will be playing Treasure Fest in Charlotte, NC later this month sandwiched in between a show with Less Than Jake and their LP release show in Durham with labelmates Restorations and Signals Midwest. BEST PRACTICES: The EP LP 12″ Pre-Order Available Now On TINY ENGINES

——————————————————————————————————

* The EP LP Out June 19, 2012
* Stream full album here
* Upcoming shows / The Fest / Recording soon

——————————————————————————————————

Tiny Engines (Tigers Jaw, CSTVT, Look Mexico, Restorations) welcomed Providence, RI’s Best Practices to its expanding roster earlier this year. The label is excited to announce the band’s debut, The EP LP, is now available for pre-order on one-sided 12″ vinyl. The 12″ will see a June 19, 2012 release date. Also worth noting, all vinyl pre-orders come with an instant mp3 download for the 9-song album. The album is also available for early digital purchase here. You can stream the entire record on Bandcamp.

The The EP LP 12″ vinyl is limited to 500 pressed on three colorways (75 Yellow / 175 Black w/ screened B-side / 250 Translucent Green). All pre-orders will be entered to win a test pressing of the record. There are also vinyl combo packs and vinyl + tee packages available.

Best Practices have some confirmed hometown shows upcoming and will be swinging South down to VA and back up through Philly in August (details to come). The band has also been confirmed for The Fest in Gainesville in October. Also, the band will be heading back into Dead Air Studios in late June/early July to record new material. Stay tuned!
